Prototype No Longer in Development – Full Game in Progress

Hey everyone!

We wanted to give you a quick update regarding the Mannequin Syndrome Prototype available here on Itch.

This prototype was built as a fun early experiment—a small multiplayer showcase to let people experience the original concept and play around with the idea of mannequins that react and hunt. It was never meant to be final.

❗ Please note: the prototype is not representative of the final game. The full version is being completely reworked from the ground up with all-new mechanics, visuals, levels, mannequin behaviors, and storytelling. It’s an entirely different experience.

🧠 Game Lore Recap

After a failed AI integration project designed to enhance retail mannequins, something went terribly wrong. The mannequins became sentient, aggressive, and spread across multiple regions—contaminating entire sites.

You are part of a response team sent to investigate these areas, uncover the truth, complete dangerous objectives, and shut down the corrupted presence before it spreads further.

🌍 The Prototype Map: Hollow Pines Island

The prototype takes place on Hollow Pines, a remote island where the first mannequin breach was detected. Survivors discovered a possible way to stop them: activating 3 radio towers, aligning a transmission frequency, and locating power cores to trigger a shutdown sequence at a server rack hidden in a church.

But that was just the beginning…

• 👁️ Brand new mannequin types & AI behaviors
• 🌌 Unique, atmospheric levels with their own stories
• 🧩 Puzzle-based objectives & progression
• 🎮 1–4 Player cooperative gameplay
• 💀 Ritual-based endings with consequences
• 🧠 No shared story structure between maps – each is standalone and replayable

The prototype will stay up as a legacy build, but it will not receive updates. All development focus is now on the full version of the game.
